Overview

Kooya Salary Packaging is an Aboriginal-owned salary packaging and novated leasing provider — helping Australian employees pay for a car and its running costs from pre-tax salary.

The proposition is simple: your car costs less with Kooya. Leasing, fuel, insurance, rego, tyres and servicing bundled into one pre-tax payment, backed by a team that actually answers the phone.

The problem was visibility. People do not search for a salary packaging brand they have never heard of — they search for the product, the calculator and, increasingly, the exact car they want. Kooya was not in those results.

Challenge

When PWD took on Kooya, four things were holding the business back:

  • Product searches, not brand searches: “novated lease”, “salary sacrifice car”, “EV novated lease” — every result page dominated by national providers with much bigger budgets.
  • Traffic that undersold the offer: 5,207 organic visits in the six months to August 2025 — modest numbers for a provider operating nationally.
  • Vehicle searches going unanswered: people search for the specific car they want to lease, and Kooya had no pages competing for those searches at all.
  • No enquiry measurement: until August 2025, nobody could say how many calculator submissions, quotes or calls organic search actually produced.

What we did

Built pages for the cars people actually search

A page for each in-demand vehicle — what it costs on a novated lease, what is bundled in, and why it stacks up — written for the person comparing cars, not for a brochure. These pages ranked from a standing start: the Denza B5 page alone went from zero to 416 organic visits.

Sharpened the pages that carry the business

The novated lease page was rewritten and restructured around the questions people bring to it — how it works, what it costs, who it suits. Organic visits to that one page more than doubled, from 587 to 1,201. The homepage rose 52% alongside it.

Fixed the foundations

Site structure, internal linking and page speed tuned so every vehicle page presents consistently to search engines and has the best chance of ranking quickly — the same template, repeatable for every car Kooya adds.

Measured what matters

From August 2025, calculator submissions, quote requests, click-to-calls and contact forms are all tracked. When Kooya asks what search is producing, the answer is in the data — success is measured in enquiries, not just visits.

Where it stands today

Comparing March–August 2026 with the same six months in 2025, organic search traffic only, all from Google Analytics as at 29 August 2026:

  • Organic visits are up 72% — from 5,207 to 8,972 across the six months.
  • The novated lease page more than doubled, from 587 to 1,201 organic visits, and the homepage rose 52%, from 2,750 to 4,190.
  • The new vehicle pages rank from zero: the Denza B5 page went from no visits at all to 416.
  • Over 1,900 enquiries tracked in the six months to August 2026: 857 calculator submissions, 532 quote requests, 439 phone calls and 81 contact forms.

What has not happened yet

We cannot tell you enquiries are up year on year — because conversion tracking only began in August 2025, there is no honest before-and-after to quote. PWD put that measurement in place, so next year’s version of this page can compare like for like. Until then, the absolute numbers above are the story.

Vehicle page coverage is also far from complete — the Denza B5 result is one car, and there are dozens more worth a page. And when someone asks an AI assistant about novated leasing, Kooya is not yet reliably part of the answer.

We would rather show you the genuine position than round the story up.

What’s next

  • More vehicle pages: roll the proven template out across every car worth leasing, so each new model launches with a page already ranking.
  • Content earlier in the journey: reach people while they are still weighing up EV versus petrol, or wondering what salary packaging even is.
  • First like-for-like comparison: with a full year of enquiry tracking behind us, next year’s numbers can show growth, not just volume.
  • AI search visibility: be the answer when someone asks an assistant about novated leasing, not just a search box.

Next steps

The model is proven: pages built around what people actually search, core pages that earn their rankings, and tracking that ties every enquiry back to its source. The next phase is coverage — the same result, for every vehicle Kooya offers.
